How we write

Why we test before we write

A review that only says nice things helps no one. Our articles start from a real camera, the one that went across the workbench: we load a film or a card, we take photos, and we report what we saw, including the slightly dim viewfinder, the noisy shutter or the disappointing battery life.

When a model has let us down, we say so in the article rather than quietly selling it. It follows directly from our testing method and from our condition scale : describing so that you can decide, not to persuade you.

These reviews cover second-hand cameras, so one-off examples. The model reviewed may still be available, or already gone: the counters above show current stock, live.
