Getting started
Batteries Press the cover button and turn the lever anticlockwise to open it. Slide in two AA batteries, close and turn the other way to lock.
Charging There’s no battery to charge: it runs on two AA alkaline batteries (about 190 shots, CIPA measurement) or two AA NiMH, sold separately.
Card Slide the side cover lock, insert a 4 to 32 GB microSD or microSDHC card the way the diagram shows, then close. With no card, it records to its internal memory of about 8 MB.
Switching on for the first time Press the Power button: it first shows the language choice, then the date and time. The arrows select and adjust, then you confirm.
Your first photo With the Mode button, choose auto mode and confirm, then press the shutter button. To film, the quick video record button starts the video. Pressing it again stops and saves it.
Before going in the water
5 m deep and one hour at most. No hot springs, and no water above 40 °C.
Before each swim, check that the rubber seal is intact and free of sand, then close the battery cover and the side cover firmly. A scratched or cracked seal lets water in.
Never open a cover underwater.
After water, sand or mud, rinse it in clean water with the covers closed, then dry it with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth.
Got it wet by accident? Turn it off and dry it before opening the covers, then remove the batteries and the card.
