Second-hand Sigma: the Japanese lens maker, founded in Tokyo in 1961, makes lenses for other brands’ cameras. Through the workshop have come two constant-aperture f/4.5 telephoto zooms, one in Canon FD mount, the other in Pentax K, and a ×1.5 converter that screws onto the front of a lens. Every piece is checked and photographed unedited.
Understanding this category
Constant apertureThe Zoom-K 100-200 mm and Zoom-K II 70-210 mm hold f/4.5 across the whole range: exposure doesn’t change as you zoom.
Mount firstThe same Sigma lens came in several mounts: Canon FD and Pentax K aren’t interchangeable, so check the one stated on the product page.
The screw-on ×1.5It fits on a 52 mm filter thread, on the front of the lens: the camera’s mount doesn’t come into it.
