Minolta F25 Autoflash: second-hand, tested and checked
A 1998 Minolta film compact with nothing to set: you frame, you press the button, the flash fires when it’s needed.
The F25 has fixed focus: everything is sharp from 1.3 m to infinity, with no waiting for autofocus. It reads the film speed from the DX code, from ISO 100 to 400, and fires its flash when the light is low, with red-eye reduction for portraits. The film advances by itself after each shot, and a switch under the body starts the rewind. Two standard AA batteries power it.
