Getting started

Battery Slide the cover open, then insert the NP-20 battery, EXILIM logo towards the screen, pushing the latch until it holds the battery in place. No other battery is suitable.
Charging Plug the CA-34 USB cradle into the mains and sit the camera on it, switched off, screen facing you. The CHARGE lamp goes from red to green in about two hours. Orange means it’s too hot or too cold: wait.
Card Insert an SD, SDHC or MMC card, front facing the screen, until it clicks, then format it: MENU, Set Up tab, Format. With no card, it records to its 6 MB internal memory.
Switching on for the first time Press ON/OFF: it asks for the language, the region and city, summer or winter time, the date format, then the date and time. Confirm each screen with SET.
Your first photo When switched on, it’s in Auto mode. Press halfway: a beep, and the frame turns green. Press all the way. The photo stays on screen for about a second.

To shoot video, choose the quality in MENU, Quality tab, then press the movie button. Press it again to stop recording.
Videos are AVI MPEG-4 (DivX): the manual says they won’t play on a Macintosh.
Anti Shake is switched on with the BEST SHOT scene of the same name or through MENU, REC tab.
Only charge the NP-20 with its charging cradle or the BC-11L charger, and only with the supplied AC adapter.
